KC Family and Community Engagement

 

SchoolSmartKC partnered with local educators, non-profits, and faith based leaders to launch a the Kansas City Family and Community Engagement ( KC-FCE) Fellowship.

KC-FCE was a year-long fellowship designed to equip administrators, educators, and school personnel with the tools to build effective, trusting, and goal oriented partnerships between educators, families, and community members that improves student outcomes.

Seven participating schools had the opportunity to deepen their competencies on effective family and community engagement linked to academic outcomes. Participants also received on-site coaching at their respective schools, technical assistance from a national foundation and received a $25,000 grant from SchoolSmartKC to support the development of a robust family and community engagement strategy that strengthens and supports academic outcomes for all children.
